ICD Lecturer publishes Tax advice book
Paul Molloy, a Finance Lecturer at ICD, has published a book called
“A Politicians Guide to Finance and Money”.
The book was written to help politicians, and the general reader, understand Finance using history. Politicians have a good knowledge of history and we all learn best from stories.
In this way, the book takes an informal style to help the reader to understand why:
– banks are so important to our financial system and why they can be so at risk;
– why we’re experiencing inflation and why it’s a lot better than deflation;
– why a government can suddenly be at the mercy of the financial markets after a period of excess borrowing;
– why the Great Financial Crash impacted Ireland so strongly and why it was as much the economic winds from the subprime meltdown in American housing markets as well as our own bust banks that caused so much economic pain for so long.
The easiest way to buy a copy is by contacting Paul by email on paul@boxclevertax.ie

ICD Business School has moved to a new premises.
We would like to inform you that as of July 1st, 2026, ICD Business School will be moving to new premises.
The new premises are located at 25 Wolfe Tone Street, Dublin D01X9K7. All of our telephone numbers will remain the same.
This year (2026-2027) we are celebrating our 25th year delivering third level programmes at level 8 & 9 to learners in the area of Accounting, Finance, Financial Services and Business Management.
Over this time, we have developed our programmes in conjunction with (NCEA/HETAC) QQI and the professional bodies where we are now able to offer our learners the highest number of exemptions from the accountancy professional bodies in Ireland and Internationally. We are the only third level provider in Ireland to have a master’s programme in Accounting & Finance ‘embedded’ with the ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) the worlds largest professional accountancy body.
These programmes have allowed ICD to increase its student intakes, (especially post Covid) and consequently we reviewed our current facilities in relation to the next 5 to 10 years.
Our new location is a purpose-built educational facility with full educational planning permission and Fire Certificates for educational purposes along with full disability access and facilities, these premises are a third larger again in size than are current premises. These new premises will allow us to offer better services in all areas to all of our learners.
It is located in Dublin 1 and is within 2 minutes of both Luas lines, bus routes, Dart line etc.
This represents a large investment by ICD and reflects our commitment to the future of ICD its students, graduates and staff.
We look forward to welcoming you all to our new premises and look forward to another 25 years working with you.
Our website www.icd.ie contains a video with instructions as to how to locate our new premises.
