Dr. Ronald Wekesa Wafula

    Dr. Wafula holds a PhD in Finance from the Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School (UCD). He also has an MSc in Investment Management from the ICMA Centre at the University of Reading, where he was awarded the prestigious UK-government-funded Chevening Scholarship. He has a first-class Honours in BBM Finance degree from Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology, Kenya, where he emerged as the third-best graduate. Dr Wafula is currently Head of Quality Assurance and lecturer at ICD Business School and has previously worked as an academic at UCD and Dublin City University (DCU). His unique teaching style earned him a nomination for the University Teaching and Learning Award at UCD in 2022. His research focuses on market microstructure, specifically liquidity resiliency. It has been published in ABS 3-ranked journals such as the Journal of International Financial Markets, Institutions, and Money (2024) and the Journal of Empirical Finance (Under review).
